So What Exactly is a Health Coach?

I know what you are thinking. There are millions of resources on what to eat, what not to eat, how to workout at home, how much sleep you should be getting….why would I need a health coach when I can research all things health and wellness (and then some) for free.


Look, we all know we should eat more greens, drink more water, get 8 hours of sleep and workout. But if it were that easy, why aren’t we all in great shape, well hydrated, never stressed or tired? Why do we, struggle to lose weight, constantly feel worn out, have gas and bloating on the reg(ular) but irregular bowels – yes, I went there – and suffer from a variety of illnesses?
Y’all, the numbers are not good. 
  • Approximately 70% of Americans are overweight
  •  Over half of Americans have a chronic illness
  • The US Centers for Disease Control reported that a few years ago, chronic diseases were responsible for five of the six leading causes of death in the US. But listen to this: nearly EIGHTY PERCENT could have been prevented if a healthy lifestyle was followed. 
  • 83% of us suffer from work-related stress1 and we are considered one of the most stressed countries in the world
So yes, the resources are there, the proof is there, so let me ask again, why aren’t we all in amazing shape and illness free? 
  • Because it’s easier said than done. 
  • Because the American standard diet sucks. 
  • Because our medical professionals are stretched too thin to spend quality time with patients (so much more on this in the future).
  • Because we have become addicted to sugar and salt. Plus, real talk, brownies taste amazing.
  • Because the government doesn’t regulate what ingredients brands can put in our foods or the way they advertise to us and our youth
  •  And because, well, LIFE. Celebrations, holidays, traditions, convenient and cheaper options.
There are so many other factors that play a huge role in your health, and as a society, we aren’t addressing those issues. Until now.

That’s where I come in as an Integrative Nutrition and Health Coach. Health coaches act as a guide and ally, helping you create new, healthy habits, let go of unhealthy behaviors, transform your health goals into realities, and ultimately become your own most powerful advocate. I can help you identify potential stumbling blocks and hold you accountable for your health behaviors so that you have the best chance of reaching your goals.
